Nokia N1 Hands-On
There's
really only two things you need to know about the N1. The first one:
It's a shameless copy of the iPad mini. The kind of rip off we haven't
seen since Samsung's old copycat days. Or Xiaomi's current copycat days.
The second: It runs Nokia's own modified launcher by default. It's
called Z Launcher (you can download it on your own Android phone, actually), and you may actually want to use it.
The Z
Launcher's main feature is that you can write any letter on the screen,
and the launcher will pull up a variety of results beginning with that
letter. Kind of a like a handwritten Spotlight. Besides that, it
automatically reorganizes your main screen with the apps you use the
most. Even though the Z launcher is on by default, you can turn it off
and use Android's regular launcher, no problem.
Nokia is not dead (yet?), but their phones are. The company's latest
attempt to be popular again is the Nokia N1, an new Android tablet announced a few months back.
The good news is Nokia delivered a very good tablet at a very
competitive price. The bad news? We still don't know if it's coming to
the USWill you like it? Should you buy it? There's a very simple rule to help answer those questions. If you like the the look, feel, and size of the iPad mini but prefer your tablet running Android, you'll love the Nokia N1. It's a little sturdier, and the materials aren't quite luxury status like on an iPad, but the general feeling when holding it is pretty much the same. And for $250, that isn't too bad at all.
APPLE NOW SELLS MORE PHONES THAN SAMSUNG ,ACCORDING TO GARTNER.
BY NICK SUMMERS,
When we last checked in on the battle for the top spot in the smartphone market, Apple and Samsung were neck and neck. If you ask Gartner, though, it isn't quite so evenly matched. The analyst group estimates that Apple managed to edge past Samsung in the fourth quarter of 2014, shipping 74.8 million phones to Samsung's 73 million. That isn't exactly a cavernous gap, but it's been a long time since any research firm unambiguously declared Apple the biggest vendor -- over three years, if you're wondering. Having said this, the changing of the guard isn't completely surprising. Apple had two brand new iPhones in the fall to goose its sales, while Samsung was grappling with both surging Chinese competitors (including chart rivals Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi) and a flagship phone that was getting long in the tooth.
It's important to note that Samsung still shipped the most smartphones for the whole year, pushing out a whopping 307.6 million to Apple's 191.4 million. However, the Gartner data shows just how much of the bloom has left Samsung's rose in recent months. The Korean corporation went from being the clear frontrunner as 2014 began to losing that crown (or sharing it) just a year later. As such, it's no wonder that the Galaxy S6 is such a big departure from Samsung's status quo. The company is still making billions in profit every quarter, but that money might disappear without drastic action.

Sony's PlayStation 4 VR headset launching in the 'first half of 2016'
Sony's PlayStation 4-powered virtual reality headset, Project Morpheus, has new specs and a slightly different look (seen above). Okay, it doesn't look that different. What's new? For one, the screen resolution is improved: it's now 1,920 x RGB x 1,080. The refresh rate is doubled
from last year at 120Hz, and the new 5.7-inch screen also has a higher
field of view (nearly 100 degrees). Oh right! It's got a new, bigger
screen at 5.7 inches! But you already guessed that. Further upping the
specs is lower latency, now under 18 milliseconds.
Most importantly, the unit will launch at retail in "the first half of 2016." That's... kinda soon? Almost?
Price? No, no price yet. A new name? Nope, this thing is still called Project Morpheus. Sony's announcements today were all about a new model of Morpheus. Let's dig in on the news then. How about a review of those specs for starters?

DRAKE FLYS IN A HOT PIECE OF ASS TO PLAY WITH AT THE BEACH.
The "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" rapper was chilling at his hotel pool in Perth, Australia, wearing a smoking babe in a bikini, named Bernice Burgos. We're told they met back in NYC, and they've been "knowing" each other since 2012. Drizzy immortalized her in his verse for the song, "Odio."
She's clearly hot enough to warrant a plane ticket half way around the world.
By the way, rare shots of Drake shirtless. He ain't hardcore, but he's looking ... fit.
JOBS THAT PAY MORE,BUT DO NOT REQUIRE A COLLEGE DEGREE.
Attending a college and completing the degree is traditionally
associated with long term economic stability, decreased employment
volatility and increased earnings. Also the studies conducted by U.S,
BLS (Bureau of Labor and Statistics) indicate that higher earnings come
from higher education.
The U.S Department of Education considers college education as an excellent investment for students who can get degrees at low student loans and have a great career afterwards. But some of the students won’t consider college as a viable option because of one reason or the other. For them we present 6 top paying jobs that do not require a college degree.

Angelina Jolie buys Brad Pitt wedding gift so rare it's thought to be worth £2MILLION
Angelina Jolie has given new husband Brad Pitt a
wedding gift that will stand the test of time.
The Tomb Raider star bought the film hunk a watch so
rare it is thought to be worth £2million.
Her romantic gesture came to light after the 1952 Patek
Philippe platinum chronometer was taken to a small
shop by a friend to be inscribed with the words “To Roly
from Nessa”.
They are characters the newlyweds play in the film By
The Sea, which they are currently making in Malta.
George Farrugia, 57, who runs Dolindo Jewellers on the
neighbouring island of Gozo, said: “I did inscribe the
watch, it was for Brad and it was a rare one.
"Oh yes, it was very valuable.
Happy 54th independence day to all Nigerians
TODAY Wednesday, October 1, 2014, marks the 54th
anniversary of our independence from our colonial
genitors, Great Britain. It is a moment of triumph for
both countries.
The United Kingdom has just survived a referendum that
would have seen the separation of Scotland from the
rest of the country if the “ayes” had had it.
And for Nigeria, we are gradually
reasserting our territorial integrity after
the second bid by separatists to
dismember the country and create a
new identity out of a nation born
exactly one century ago.
The gallant armed forces of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria have started rolling back the threat of Islamist
insurgency group, Boko Haram, which seized several
towns in Adamawa and Borno States and claimed them
as part of their putative “Islamic Caliphate”.
With victory imminent and in sight, Nigeria will
demonstrate, once again, its ability to hold its own
against internal insurrection and external aggression.
This is what nations that are viable and will be great
can do. And this is a further incentive for Nigerians to
rededicate themselves to the unity of our country,
knowing that only a united Nigeria can protect Nigerians
and provide them the security they need to actualise
their individual and collective aspirations.
As we celebrate today, let us pause and reflect on some
of the challenges that have stymied our growth and
hampered our emergence to a solid economic and
continental behemoth in spite of our natural and human
endowments. We have held numerous constitutional and
national conferences, the last being the recently-
concluded edition in July this year. These conferences
were meant as avenues to seek solutions to our
problems, which are mainly ethnicity, sectionalism,
regionalism and politicisation of our religious faiths
rather than using them as means of seeking the face of
God our Creator and doing His will.
For the original Nigerian dream for which our founding
fathers struggled to free us from colonial bondage to be
realised, we must cast aside these unwholesome forces
of disunity.
We must see one another as people of one indivisible
country bound by common destiny. This country
belongs to all of us equally, and our constitution has
given us all the right to aspire to the highest
endeavours.
We must all go with the spirit and letters of our national
charter and give to ourselves and our future generations
a nation we can all feel at home in, and be proud of.
The whole world knows that the Federal Republic of
Nigeria stands on the threshold of economic emergence.
We must henceforth play our politics to ensure that we
realise the good things that lie in store for this nation.
Happy birthday, Nigeria!
